UV String Art • Large-Scale Psychedelic Wall Art

Strict Alien is a large-format, handcrafted string art artwork built as a precise and uncompromising visual statement. The piece is constructed on extra-hard, planed beech wood prisms, selected for strength and stability, and finished with matte black spray paint (RAL 9005). The surface is protected by two layers of translucent varnish, ensuring long-term durability and depth.

The string composition is woven using the brightest UV-active synthetic acrylic fibers from three proven brands — Bravo, Elian, and Ekofil — carefully selected after years of experimentation. Under UV light, the colors intensify and sharpen the artwork’s strict, almost mechanical character.

Several advanced techniques were used to elevate this piece beyond standard string art. UV-active neon reflective tape is applied along the entire perimeter, while a hand-crafted dotted mandala was created by melting colored reflective neon silicone directly onto the surface. The nail heads are individually painted with UV-reactive acrylic paint to enhance the blacklight response and visual precision.

A custom-installed UV LED strip is integrated exactly along the perimeter of the artwork and connected to a 24V power adapter, allowing the piece to function as a complete, self-contained UV installation. Every element serves a purpose and contributes to the artwork’s sharp, disciplined identity.
